Repetition became a drag,

So, I tried something new—

I told you no and now,

Chaos has erupted your Neverland.

What had happened?

For you to show your true colors

For you to curse my name and

Wish the worse upon me…

All I said was

No.

Is it because I will not stand for what she endured?

Or what he couldn’t tame?

Or what they could not fix?

Was it the cut that deeply burned

Or the fact that no one kissed your boo-boo?

I was an infant then and I never knew what I was born into,

Yet you hold liable for others’ actions.

Would you believe me if I said,

It was never my fault?

Or yours?

Maybe his or hers,

Theirs or ours,

We gotta move on.

We gotta move forward like some untrusted souls have said before

And maybe they’re right.

What’s stopping the bad man from his badness?

Or the good ones from putting out necessary magic?

Or your mother from kissing you after a night terror?

Or your father giving you a motivational speech after a loss?

Or your friend hugging you after viciously venting?

Or your sibling handing you a blunt when grandma has pissed you off for the last time?

Love has come in the strangest ways at the oddest times.

Some temporary, some permanent.

Healthy,

And the unhealthy…

It’s up to us to decide differently,

Choose better and move on.

Yet, you are comfortable where you have made peace.

Let Aunty Tab say,

“That’s your business.”

Your life, your choices.

Why can’t I get the same respect?

Not everyone but just…

From you?
